Guidelines:

WALKING FOR THE FIRST TIME?

Consult the leader beforehand if you have any queries
Introduce yourself to the leader at the start, you will be made very welcome
Wear strong shoes or walking boots
Bring suitable rainwear (a small umbrella may be useful)
Some ramblers like to use a walking stick, especially in slippery conditions
Please don't walk in front of the leader
All walks are circular unless otherwise stated
Walks in the Chilterns may be hilly - call the leader if concerned

SAFETY
All walkers join the Group walks entirely at their own risk
Walk leaders must be current members of the Ramblers' Association
In bad weather it is solely up to the leader to change or abandon a walk
On roads keep to single file, close to the right-hand side, unless advised otherwise
Look behind when turning a corner - don't lose those following you

REFRESHMENTS
Always carry sufficient liquid, and some 'iron rations'
For all-day walks bring a packed lunch
Remember that muddy boots are not popular in pubs
    •     Don't consume your own food or drink on the premises
Don't expect to use the facilities without buying a drink
